![]() IMazing grabbed the latest version of MixBox (1.3.3) and so I’ll be keeping 1.2 on my iPad as long as I can. alas, I waited too long and the option to get 1.2 had gone. if I would’ve downloaded it before they put out the first new version (1.3), I would have the 1.2 backup to install. ![]() Yes that’s correct as I discovered while trying to backup MixBox (1.2 installed on my iPad). The magic part is that you can install them on the iPad directly from iMazing. iMazing downloads the files from the App Store and stores them on your computer. Pretty sure you cannot share your apps from the installed iPad copies to iMazing. Thanks didn’t catch that part! Don’t have my iPad with me but hoping I can batch download my apps. Make sure you download those apps in iMazing. Really trying to thin down my choices and go deeper in fewer apps this coming year. Excited about this because now I can clean out some apps without risking losing any of them if at a later date I change my mind. Seems to be working well so far with my iPhone XR and IPad Pro 4th gen. Some things do become unavailable but not said: ![]() When Aphelion stopped appearing in the store and stopped showing up in the purchased apps list, iMazing could still see it. Many apps no longer visible in the App Store can be downloaded if you purchased them. It doesn’t matter whether it is available for purchase in the App Store if you own it. IPA file for which works fine for me but may not work well for anyone else trying to backup apps that are no longer available in the App Store. Just wanted to clarify for anyone else reading that it seems that you can only back up apps that still exist in the App Store or that you have a. No need to download it to your device, just to purchase it, or 'Get' it if it is free.” If you have not purchased or acquired the app before, the download will fail and iMazing will suggest you get the app from the iOS App Store first. Their website says, “ Any app you own and which is still on the App Store can be added to your app library from here - simply type the app's name in the search field, and click the download button to add it. ![]() Do you know if the ipa file downloaded by iMazing includes all components, or just those for your current said: This particularly affects graphics adapted to screen size and shape (think iPhone, iPad, Air, Pro). Lately (since iOS 10?), when you install an app, you only receive selected components adapted to your device. You make clear that you can only download an app from the AppStore, but iMazing can then install it on a device.īut I have an additional question. I know that users sometimes hope they can "copy" an app from one device to another. Even if they disappear from Apple servers. So as far as this app remains compatible with newer versions of iOS, I can always install it again in other devices using my account. When I purchase an app, the first thing that I always do is to connect the iPad to my MAC, downloading the IPA archive in an external hard disk. So if you want to be 100% sure that in the future you can move your previously purchased apps to new iOS devices, even when they completely disappear from Apple servers, you need to download the IPA to your computer while they still are in the download section. The only way of doing this is if you previously saved this as an IPA file, downloading a backup of the app directly from the Apple servers. If you have this app installed in an iOS device, you can’t extract the app from this device, moving it to a new device. ![]() Let’s say that an app completely disappears, from the store and from the list of previously purchased apps. You can make a backup of any app as an IPA archive, and then you can install this on any new iOS device which uses your same Apple account.Įven when these apps completely disappear from the store, it doesn’t matter if they also disappeared from the download section in your purchase history.īut it’s important to note that for doing this, it’s not enough with having a backup of your iOS device. ![]()
